From Overweight to Triathlete: A Journey of Dedication
My story begins with a struggle that many can relate to — fighting against the odds.
As a teenager, I faced challenges with my weight and the accompanying insecurities. But I decided to take control. Through sheer determination and hard work, I not only transformed my body, but I also found a passion that would redefine my life: triathlon.
The sport became more than just a way to lose weight. It became a way to test my limits, challenge what others thought was “impossible,” and prove that with enough belief and effort, you can achieve things you once thought unattainable. I’ve learned that what may seem impossible to others, doesn’t have to be impossible for you.
Defining Moments
Two key moments shaped my journey as an athlete. First, within a year, I improved my time in a middle-distance triathlon by 20 minutes—a personal achievement that taught me the power of persistence. Then, at Ironman 70.3 Duisburg in 2024, I realized that I was competing alongside some of the top athletes and was just shy of qualifying for the World Championship. This experience showed me that my early beliefs of being “unsporty” were wrong. With focus, hard work, and belief, I know now that I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
Why I Coach
I understand the struggle of starting out and pushing through limits. That’s why my coaching is about more than just hitting race times. I believe in the importance of personalized, empathetic coaching where we focus on your health, progress, and long-term success. While my approach is demanding, I always keep your well-being at the forefront—because only a healthy athlete can achieve top performance.
As a self-coached athlete, I’ve gained invaluable experience, and I’m currently advancing my expertise by working towards a certified Triathlon Coaching qualification, which I will complete by April 2025.
